I have read 40/100, and started but not finished 16/100. Most of the book I have read seem to be classics, or children's stories. I'm afraid I have large gaps in my contemperory fiction reading.

Well you certainly have me beat...I think I only read about 10 of these!
We must be on the same wavelength - I've read 40 of them also. I started War and Peace but never finished it so that doesn't count and I am never going to read Harry Potter so that is out. Now if I could just finish the TBR pile! Somehow, no matter what I take off of it, it still seems to grow at a faster rate.
I agree with Jo-Jo... sadly, I'm no where near 40. Great list though. I might just make it a personal "perpetual" challenge.
I've only read 28 myself and several others I never finished. But their expectations seem awfully low to me. I read at least that many of them when I was still a child. Lists are fun though.
I came in at 57! I think I beat the BBC's prediction.
There are more that I've read parts of or started and never finished.
Oh I have only read 33 but thats cerainly not 6 lol. I have read more than I thought I owuld have actually!
